Need some measurements...
I used to wonder why I could never get the doors to close right on the cab. Then when we started to work on the truck, we braced the cab with the old floor in it, then cut the floor out and started working on it. In hindsight, I wish we would have cut the floor out, squared it all up, and then braced it. Measurements I took last night show the bottom of the cab to be about 3/4" out of square. Kinda goes along with the damage to the cowl that existed. Anyway, I'm cutting most of the cowl off to build new, and want everything to be in its place. I'll cut the bracing out today, and redo it, but I need to know some dimensions first. Any help is appreciated...
Inside of a-pillar to inside of a-pillar at the lower hinge pocket, say the middle of it.
Door opening width. Anyplace is ok, as long as I know where the measurement is, in relation to a landmark. (This should be ok, since the old floor should have held the opening right for each door, but...)
Inside of b-pillar to inside of b-pillar. (I know the seat is in the way on a complete truck, but if anybody has a cab that is in a state that measurements can be taken, great! Just need to know how far from some landmark the measurement is taken.)
Again, thanks for any help!
Dave
A pillar to A pillar inner edge at door check arm height (can't get any lower sorry, because of the HZ Holden floor I've welded in!) is 3' 5".
B pillar to B pillar inner edge at centre of dovetail height is 4' 4 3/8".
Door opening A pillar to B pillar at floor level is 2' 7 1/8".
Good luck!
Steve.
