Camshaft upgrades for F4TE Roller Motor?

Does anyone have any experience or suggestion on a mild upgrade for the F4TE roller motor camshaft? I use the vehicle for towing, and its time for a rebuild. The motor has the crank / knock sensor, so that may limit my choices.
Thanks

Actually if the motor has a crank sensor there's a good chance it is mass air and that opens up your cam choices. The 5.0HO cam is a good choice, but even better would be something like the Comp 35-320-8, it's essentially a high lift HO cam with more overlap and both of these things help to make more TQ. Note that the cam actually produces 0.512" lift with the stock 1.6 rockers and 1.7 rockers are not manditory despite what Jegs or Summit would seem to imply.

Conanski-
Thanks for the input. Yes, it is mass air. I do have 1.6 roller rockers on the engine now. Hate to spend more on 1.7s. I had seen the comp am you are referring to at Summit. Dang that seems expensive, but it seems to be one of VERY few options out there. I wrecked my 95, and am pulling the motor with all its goodies and putting it in a 96.

Thanks!

There are few cheap roller cams now since Crane went under, they had some great truck cams too I hope they come back soon.

My advice, if you're looking at making more power in a tow rig, I'd stick with the stock roller camshaft, and instead focus on making the heads, intake and exhaust flow more air.

This is what has been on the motor over stock

351w Edelbrock Truck intake-
Z 303 heads
1.6 full roller rockers
lightweight h con rods
Twin 62mm BBK Throttle body
Bassani headers
Bassani 3" Y tube, Dual exhaust (Cat delete)
F-150 Lightning Powerdyne Supercharger

The only thing I have left that is stock is the camshaft and the block itself. I have larger injectors, but I will have to have the MAF redone and the ECM reprogrammed.

Oh, that sounds like a nice setup. I'd call Crower and ask about their cams. After speaking over the phone to the man himself, Bruce Crower, a few years ago, I decided Crower Cams is about as good as it gets.

to move to much air and not upgrade the cam you essentially move the power curve higher in the rpm range, this would affect a tow rig which needs the torque to be produced lower in the rpm range.
