School me on F3TE heads
Ok, well my other idea of using D3VE heads on my '88 EFI motor is going to require too much fabrication and therefore too much down time. I'm back leaning towards swaping on a set of F3TE's. I found out that I can get bare F3TE heads from auto zone for about $260, not to mention what I might be able to find in the bone yard. Here are my questions:
1. I need some specs for the F3TE's: valve dia., valve length, valve sping spring-rate, spring dia., rocker arm stud dia. and chamber volume.
2. Will F3TE's bolt up to my E7TE head intake manifold?
3. I assume the standard 1.73 ratio roller rockers will fit on these heads?
4. Will roller rockers clear the factory valve covers?
5. Lastly I need some advice on building these things to suit my needs (daily driver F-250 burning 89-octane max, towing, four-wheeling, a little play at the local drag strip, want to bump up mpg just slightly if possible). I plan on using bare heads and going from there, probably some light porting, polishing, roller rockers, and if possible deck mill the heads and intake manifold to bump up the CR just slightly (maybe about 8.75-9:1). Any info would be great, Thanks.

#1 don't know?
#2 check to see if the gasket part numbers are the same for both years and oif so i would asay it should fit.
#3 as far as I know they have always been 1.73.
#4 not sure?
#5 I say go here http://www.network54.com/Forum/85220 for the best 460 building advice.

They will interchange with the older E7TE's fulie heads. The combustion chamber is slightly smaller. The ports are bigger and the valves are slightly larger but every thing will bolt up and work.
Go here:http://www.reincarnation-automotive....cts_index.html and eather E-mail Scott Im sure he could give you the speics or pay the $25.00 and all the INFO on porting and speics will be avalible to you with instructions and pics on where to grind and how much to take off to make them flow beter.
Scott has done alot of flow bench work on thease heads and is very good to deal with. Also if you dont want to port them your self you can have him do it.
