My sisters 56 is weeks from being complete. We want to get away from the old tailgate chains. The builder will be installing hidden latched in the tailgate, but what are some off the shelf options for supports?

I use the stainless cables, but I don't like them much (no protection for the side of the bed).. see attachment
I like your setup. Would rubber couted braided stainless work better? A little scratching in the bed is better that the orginal chain outside of the bed marking it up. Thank.
BTW- are those lights or reflectors on the bed rails?

these cables are plastic covered ( very light)..
those are lights, parking, stop and turn.

ive got the stainless hidden latches which have some rope going from the latch on the tailgate to the latch on the bed side. and you can fit them after paint.

sold the green machine a few years ago. Not getting it out to shows in the hot Texas sun. Better for someone else to enjoy. Seen pics from shows up by Dallas and Houston.
