Custom tailgate cables
I had custom tailgate cables/latches mailordered from Sac Vint Ford & while they look nice, there's no diagram with them to show the best way to mount. Anyone done same & did you go outside or insdie?? They are page 399 part 8418-15 - 24" in their catalogue.

I made my own cables and put them inside the bed. I am not familiar with the cables you mentioned, but I have always liked them inside. It protects the outside paint.

I'm always amazed when I look at your truck! Fantastic attention to detail. I like the way things are hidden when you close the gate. Have you ever considered fabricating a retractable cable that fits inside the stake pocket? Then everything would be hidden.
I've toyed with the idea but I'm not sure I can make anything work like that on my bed since I want to retain the styled stake pockets on my early style bed.
