Dash Fuse Blowing

Hey I have a 97 F150 and every time a shift it blows a 5amp fuse that controls the instrument cluster and I lose all of my gauges. Not sure where to start. The overdrive light flashes on and off after driving longer distances, no problems occur when the light flashes and overdrive still turns on and off with the push of the button. anyone have any ideas especially regarding the fuse blowing?

Identify the fuse number. If it is F29, it's common.

Pull the column shrouds and inspect/repair the small harness where it comes out of the shift lever.
