Attached below is an analysis of used transmission oil that another member (Jim McCarty) sent me. I promised a long time ago to post these results and am just now getting to it. I will PM him and hope he can post his comments below.
I obtained this sample at the 30,000 mile service. I plan to run this oil to 45,000 but send in a sample at 30,000. The oil is Ford Mercon V - exactly what the manual calls for.
I haul some very heavy loads and I am totally impressed with the 5R100.
Contrary to some posts, under a light throttle, tow haul mode, 30,000 lbs GCW, it will use all six gears and it sounds really great when it does that.
Thanks Mark! You guys had me going for a moment there. The 5R110 TorqShift uses Mercon SP exclusively.
Thanks for posting the report bismic and thanks to Jim for sharing his report. The T-shift is an amazing transmission behind an engine that just needs some massaging in a truck that is truly first class.

06 Auto Tranny.... you have the wrong fluid
Edit: Nevermind...I see bismic posted results for Jim who apparently mis-spoke about the fluid type.
My bad. I'm at Texas Motor Speedway and must confess to having at least a beer or two during my week-long tailgate party. Now that the races are over, I apologize for my typing and thinking. The finger was faster than the brain. It is a 5R110, regular ole transmission for the 2006 model 6.0 engine and it uses Mrecon SP and is changed at the Ford dealership. The did not drop the pan this time, but pumped out the old and pumped in the new at the same time. I snagged some of the old as it was coming out.
Hey, just because I can't think and type at the same time (OK, a beer may have been involved), do not let this detract from the main bit if information. That is that this transmission, using factor fluid, is one heck of a fine transmission.
Yes, I always change the outside filter and changed inside filter once. It was clean but what the heck, the pans's off so you might as well replace it.
