I'm hoping that someone can help me with a scrap metal Question,
I have 15 sticks of 6" well casing pipe almost 300 ft One of my neighbors is asking about it and I'm considering selling to him,
Any ideas? either price per pound or per foot.
Thanks
I haven't dealt with cast for a while, last I knew, it was comparatively low, in that it was around $100 or less a ton. I had never seen cast lower than tin before... That typically translates to under $1 a pound. Keep in mind that would likely be the price he gets, so for you to ask that much of him means he won't make anything back, and you will be keeping it.

If it's still good casing, you need to find someone who could use it rather than scrap it out, unless you are just looking to off it. You can probably get more for it.
Thanks All,, Yea My neighbor really wants it for fence posts, I would guess Its worth
at least $100. bucks a stick, $5 bucks a ft? Well that might be too much? Its all good useable stuff
Well I guess I wont be selling for that , I would like to see in my yard as a coverd parking structure 20X40 than him having some fence posts. Man, I need to learn how to weld.
Go to Home Depot in your area and price out a length of black pipe and sell it for 1/2 of that. $1 per foot might be fair. You do not really want to use it for a structure either unless you are filling it with concrete and rod.

Welding cast iron isn't the easiest thing, for structural support I don't think I would use it, and you most likely will need a torch anyways.
