The heater hose that has the big pinhole leak is running off a T from one of the hoses that runs from the firewall. And it runs to bottom of radiator. Anyway, where it runs off the T it has those weird clamps that look like they don't come off. Kind of like transmission hose clamps I guess. What kind of tool do I need to get them off. Also, do I just get the same diameter heater hose and cut it to the length I need. The clamp where it goes into the bottom of the radiator is a normal one that you sueeze off/on with pliers--I like those clamps!
i think you are describing the crimped fittings, if so they dont come apart, best bet, go to the auto store and buy a "T" and 3 murray clamps replace with bulk hose, those crimps are junk anyway

So just replace the entire heater hose from firewall to lower radiator hose? What are Murray clamps? Also, where the heater hose comes out from firewall looks like original rubber that came from factory. Is like some kind of rubber cement or something?
its just goo to keep moisture out, there should be a clamp in there somewhere, murray clamps are what everybody calls a hose clamp, the round ring with the 8mm hex head that rides on the slots in the ring, if one hose got a hole the others arent far off, i'd do it all once, unless you like sweating bullets on the way home?!

Those clamps are factory clamps and are one time use only. They were made to stay on until they are cut off for repairs. Just replace them with regular ol hose clamps when they need to be taken off.

Yes there are clamps where the heater hoses come from firewall with that rubber crap all around them. So Murray clamps are just regular hose screw calmps? Well since most of the fluid has drained out on it's own might as well replace all heater hoses. When buying heater hose I just the correct length, right? They don't have the exact replica of what this particular truck needs do they? I can just remove all the old ones and take them in and get new ones just like them I guess.
best bet is buy a bulk roll, its cheaper then trying to measure each piece and cut accordin;ly at the counter, buy a box of it, i think they come in 20 or 30 ft rolls, you'd be surprised how much you'll use and how handy it is to have around, you can still get most of our hoses from ford but you will pay for them
You can order the hoses from Ford and they will fit exactly like the originals. There are three different size hoses, not counting the radiator hoses. I used standard 5/8" hose from the pump to the heater and from the heater to the T. After that it is molded hose so it fits properly. The powerstrokeshop.com is where I got all my hoses including the radiator hoses.
