Climate control in kahoots with the GEM???
1. The Keyless entery system "will not stay active" <----The best way to put it What I mean is in order to use the keyfobs you first have to push one of the buttons on the door to kind of "wake up" the system. Then the remotes will work at this point I might as well use the key since I am already there. The keypad on the door works but only with the factory preset code. (The dealership had to data log my truck to find the code. The code that was listed where it was supposed to be was 9-11-9-11-9 and since there is no 11 on the keypad the tech said that something was corrupt but he could find the code by datalogging and the code he retrieved works)
2. My climate control will never blow out of the dash vents. But I can switch between the floor and the Defrost. I have checked the connection behind the glove box and both are good. If I hook a vac gage on the line coming out of the firewall I get 15 inches I have manually pumped it to 20 with no change.
3. I am having issues getting my hubs to Autolock. I have changed all seals and o-rings in the front thinking that I had a leak but no luck. If I turn 4x4 on and off sometimes I will end up with one hub locked and not the other even when off. I actually think its locking the hub when I am turning it off.
I can live with 3 and possibly 2 but I want my keyfobs to work without having to touch the truck first. With all my reading I have narrowed my solution to 1 to either a bad door keypad or a bad GEM. I don't want to start changing out parts for nothing so I am putting this up to see if anyone else had these problems or has any test procedures I can perform. Like testing the keypad?
Does the GEM have any control over the Climate system or the ESOF? What I am getting at is if I had something wrong with my GEM could it affect all these things?
Thanks in advance for your help.
My vacume holds at 15 inches and my vac pump hardley runs? If my truck sits for a while or I switch the climate comtrol systems around my pump will kick in run for about a minute and shut off when it gets back to 15 inches. If I had a leak the pump would constantly try to keep up wouldn't it? Plus I would see a constant loss on the gauge.
