I have a 1974 bronco with a 302. I'm currentley using a holley pro-jection 2d fuel injection system. The previous owner had it installed. It runs rich and I have fooled an fiddled with it it has me ready to pull my hair out. I have checked fuel pressure lines, checked for vacuume leaks read and re-read the manual.
I'm thinking about replacing this thing with the holley truck avenger carb. I'm wondering if any of you have one of these installed? I'm planning on using the bronco for some rock crawling and it looks like the Holley TA is a pretty good setup for that.
i put one on my 73' 250 with a 390 it took me a year to find out there was a earley and a later vertion i had the older one that came out first it sucked bad. the guy at Holly told me that there is no way to tune the stumble out of it ,it would fall on its face bad off the line . i guess there was some defect in side that needed to be fixed ,eney way i sent it back and at no charge they sent me the newer one i put it on and it ran very well so if you buy one make sure the # on the air cleaner neck is 90670-2 and not the first one 90670-1 i wish some one would have told me this a year ago it would of saved me lots of time and money
I'm running the Truck Avenger on my 400, absolutely love it. Ran fine out of the box, put it on, set the idle, did the mixtures, and it pulls great. Whatever problem the early ones had, was solved!
the new one is a very good carb. i just got back from the dump pulling a 16' trailer with 4' side boards we weighed in at 17000# and out at 11000# it pulled that load really good lots of power but not very good breaks i need to get those trailer breaks wired in
