I didn’t care for the looks of the tiny round air filter that was installed, also not sure how well it breathed. I couldn’t find an aluminum filter that would fit my Holley 7RT without modifications. This is what I ended up with.
Air cleaner base looked like this, came with the truck so I don’t know for sure. Diameter looks right and it was a snug fit. I tapped it down with a big punch previously because it wasn’t fully seated. No set screw needed on mine. Would probably have to cut off or destroy it to get it off.

I did tap the hole to fit a 5/16-18 screw because they were easy to find.

That excuse would actually work for me. It drove my wife crazy to see ONE combination wrench that was different in my set. She went and found a match. Hmm, Looks like I need to get one of those filters.

I’ve been looking at Edelbrock 1115 heads, decent price and bump compression to about 8.0:1. Would probably try for closer to 8.5:1 with a bit of shaving head.
