I just installed a gen 5 in a 56 ford pickup with the stock location wiper motor, passenger side wiper arm is hitting the defroster duct on the evaporator. It is a sure fit system, vintage air part # 751634. Has anyone experienced this issue? any suggestions?

Yep, there was a guy on here from Ontario that the same problem, he talked to Vintage Air and they did a work around, he has many post on that subject. I am having a bad serious day and can' remember his name and I did a mini search with no luck but it is on here.
You rang...lol Vintage Air should stop selling these as a sure fit for a 1956 F100 especially after all the mods I had to make unless they are going to supply the modified parts to go with it.
Call Vintage Air extension 122 and speak with Cody, he's the guy I did all the talking with and plenty emails

I did not get much help from VA I did flip the defroster panel 180 so the vents come out the bottom not sure if that will cause any issues should be able to hid the hose with the console. I did the same thing with the arm as you did. I originally installed a Newport wiper inside the cab of course had the same problem very hard to get the top ac hose. Want to try it with the modified arm would rather have the wiper motor inside.
Did you speak with Cody at the extension number I gave you..? I have the Newport wiper motor in two of my other trucks and I think it would make things even more chaotic with running hoses. Don't bother trying to hook up the wiper linkage to the way Vintage Air states in their instructions because the wipers will NEVER operate as should.. Post more pictures..

I will call Cody Monday I modified my linkage like you did and the arms cleared but I still have the defroster panel with the vents going down This ride will have a console so I think I can hide the hoses will see. When I had the Newport wiper the AC hose where right there I can still get them on top is not fun. He really wants that Newport so will see what happens. I will post pitchers when I get it done. Thanks for your info
You will have to modify the defrost vent on the passenger side. I flipped the defrost panel pointing down and the floor panel pointing up and used it for the defrost. You also need to change out the ECM so the controls work properly..
I talked to Cody this morning he answered the phone didn't have to leave a message as sone as he said Cody I recognized the voice he help me out a year ago on another project he goes out of his way to help. This is on a 56-ford panel you would think it would be the same firewall as a PU but maybe not. He is sending me another ECU and a different panel for the floor heat. I will try to see if the Newport wiper motor will work I had it mounted there and I was able to hook the top A/C duct hose up it was tight, but I did get it on. If it works I'll send pictures.
