1987 4.9L throttle body set screw

I bought the truck and the idle sets around 900-1200 and I found out my set screw is missing from my throttle body. Does anyone know what size they are or where I could one?

Junkyard is the easiest place. As for buying one, you have a junk drawer with a bunch of random screws? I don’t know the thread pitch, but it’s fine thread. It idles around 1200 with the screw out? That’s a problem to deal with as well.

Yes there no set screw in it at all. The Idle air control sensor is new and the Throttle position sensor It also new throttle cable is new and has the ERG delete on it. I cant set the TPS right without the set screw I believe.

That is correct. Once you get the screw, unplug the IAC and get it to idle at 550 rpm with screw. Plug IAC back in. Turn truck off and set tps signal to around .9v closed. You have a vacuum leak somewhere.

Okay thank you. That helps a lot. I have one vacuum leak and need to find the others. I would like to get it running to get the best mpg I can.

5mm silicone vacuum hose, 20 ft roll on Amazon and an assortment of vacuum tees can redo all of it. $30-40 if I remember!
