I have a 2006 Harley Davidson edition.
Last summer all was fine I stopped at a stop sign went to take off and the transmission started slipping. Had it towed home and looking online it seemed that it needed a rebuild. So off it went, had it rebuilt and reinstalled it in the truck. It was Doing the exact thing as before. Hardly any movement in forward and reverse works just fine. Called the transmission shop they had me tow the whole truck in to their shop, they couldn't figure it out either so they pulled the tranny back out rebuilt it again and was doing the exact same thing no forward reverse works fine. So they pulled that transmission out and tried a different one and they said it was doing the exact same thing. We are all over scratching our heads. Any ideas what could be causing it to do this. I miss my truck lol Thank you
I can't help, sounds like a real mystery. Curious to find what does show up, How many miles, what kind of use? Wondering if maybe a valve body issue, leaking pressure, etc ..... or a bad solenoid?
You would think they would have a good bidirectional diagnosist tool so they can monitor what the TCM is seeing in the transmission live.
Based OP's description, I wouldn't. They allegedly rebuilt it, rebuilt it AGAIN, and then installed an entirely different transmission for try #3
They sound like a parts cannon. Or they're lying.
I'm no automatic expert but even I have tried some troubleshooting, including using my scanner to trigger solenoids while I feel them and listen with the pan removed.
Some level of diagnosis is necessary before slapping in three transmissions....

used to work at a dodge dealership and my co technician beside me was a 25 year veteran transmission tech and he always stuck our scan tool on it to check all kinds of stuff, I even drove the vehicle so he could read live data, I learned enough from him to be able to rebuild a th400 with aftermarket performance parts for my big block nova. I'm no expert but know enough that they have a parts cannon or they did a half *** repair and can't figure out exactly the problem is. When it comes to transmissions bite the bullet and go to the dealership
