Took me most of the day and it ended up being a hack job lol, but the truck camper has a brand new 5000 btu a/c installed The rv flex tape I used I'll be removing as it's too rigid and lets loose in the sun/heat, but the Vicor waterproof membrane holds up extremely well so I'll be redoing the back window shortly and I still need to secure the unit to the wood before my next trip, but she's in there!
Camper interior started at 32c and after an hour with blackout curtains it was down to 25c and after 1.5 hours down to 20c. In hindsight the blackout curtains didn't help at all so I'll be travelling with the reflectix I had over the windows during winter and when needed I'll tape them up and I'll make sure to cover the door windows and possibly the skylight as well. That green painters tape stuff holds tight and comes off super clean just fyi.
So laugh all you want, but I have a/c in my camper now lol
I like it. This is the kind of thing that sometimes required installing it first however you can, then installing it again much better after all of the lessons learned.
And yes, roof-mount air conditioners are expensive. This one fits nicely!

Yah considering I only paid a grand for the camper I'm fine with the a/c install looking a bit rough for now lol and my unit has a couple good soft spots from previous water damage so one of these days I'm going to repair it from top to bottom or more than likely just build my own. I could easily build a functional and nice 3 season for 2k and with 5k I could build a really nice 4 season. What I have now works for me so long as I can keep the water at bay
