Pre-install, with the protective piece of cable loom I had one pulled back, to reveal the Banks Derringer harness into the MAP sensor.
About 2400 miles since last cleaning... I use the MAF sensor spray with q-tips. Scrapped off the soot off the face of the sensor, then I pre-spray the q-tips with the MAF cleaner, then gently placed them inside the housing to clean. I am very careful and apply no pressure when close to the sensor film... so far so good. Also cleaned inside the intake port with a q-tip as well with cleaner on it... also lubed the orings with Planet Safe.
The sensor has to be installed first... since the mounting bolt faces the rear.
Those harness connectors and wires run close to the hood there so i like them covered with loom to protect them.
All done... will have to do a follow up after some miles to see how it does to keep sensor cleaner.
Nice. I am waiting on Banks to call me back so I can see about getting a spare O Ring for the Ram Air diff cover... if the shipping is going to be out the roof I may as well add this spacer to the order too... lol!

Oh yeah since I had a discount code, i said screw it and pulled the trigger...
I do have to mention that I had to cut some cable ties to give me more slack on the Banks Derringer tuner harness for the MAP sensor data intercept part of the tuner harness because the spacer physically moves the sensor further away...
I also routed the harness over the factory ground wire there by the S&S filter mounting. I had a cable tie holding the harness close to that ground wire but under it. So now it just sits on top of that ground wire.

Reason: Correct post
Just removed the banks spacer after the December 2024 install at 131k miles. The spacer had the soot on it and the sensor was still clean. AND I forgot to take a pic before I cleaned it the spacer... next time.

Reason: Add to post -- pic
i removed my S&B spacer and installed the banks spacer.
Yeah, it was a little more closed up then the pic I posted above, but not completely... no codes just looked at the intake and said to myself, "Might as well check it out and see how it's doing..."
Were you seeing soot on the sensor with the S&B spacer at all?
