I have a '98 super duty cutaway box truck. Trying to identify the transmission in it and I'm getting mixed messages from various threads. One thread said that the 98 V10 only came with a 4R100, and another thread said that the 4R100 has a speed sensor on top of it. My transmission doesn't have a speed sensor on the top. The tag reads:

The transmission is slipping and I need to rebuild it, but I need to make sure I get the right kit. Any help would be appreciated.
The 4R100 is a renamed E4OD. They are really the same transmission.
In 1998 the Superduty was launched and the name changed from E4OD to 4R100. But the early '99 trucks (built before June 1999) had transmissions that were called 4R100, but did not have the 4R100 speed sensors and really were E4ODs. There is probably no difference in the kits between an E4OD and 4R100 rebuild kit.
Well, I got a rebuild kit for a 4R100 and it's not the right kit. This transmission has a cast coast drum with 64 teeth and the kit came with clutches and steels for a 32 teeth stamped steel drum. The overdrive clutches and steels are also different.
