5 years ago I had my emissions deleted and s as CP4 kit installed.
For sheets and grins I looked to see the kit installed but not sure what I’m looking at.
now I’m wondering if it was installed
If you had the prevention kit installed you would see extra hoses and an extra filter in the engine bay. Plus after 5 years maybe the added prevention filter should of been changed.
I think 5 years is a long time to ask them to remember.
what has recently caused you to wonder about it? They might have better luck if you took the truck and asked them to show where those parts are installed so you can better familiarize yourself with them.
That White's Diesel Performance link posted looks like the widely copied first gen of S&S's kit which was too short a run of hose, as the metallic particles back fed and contaminated the system anyways...
Looks like you need the genuine article, S&S's Gen 2.1 kit with the Donaldson filter to catch all the crap when the pump goes and it flows through the return line back to the tank.
i could see a plate with an S on it so I believe this one is it.
so how easy would it be to adapt to the newest kit? Newest kit
I'd reach out to S&S and see if you could upgrade with what you have...
When they came out with the Gen 2 kit, originally with the SNAPP filter, they extended the line out to 25 inches and tee it off...This is the Gen 2.1 update because the company Parker Racor (or Racor Parker ??) couldn't keep up with the demand so S&S went with a spin on filter set up.
The return filter/head with hoses can be purchased for $160... but I don't know exactly what you have and I'm not sure the original Gen 1 kit they designed will work with just the return head/filter/hoses or if you would have to buy the whole kit for $400.
S&S offers an upgrade option for the 1st gen systems it is in the drop down menu.
From the page : "For those looking to improve the debris management of their first-generation Disaster Prevention Kit, the S&S Gen2.1 Fuel Return Filter Assembly (#CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1-RFA) can be purchased separately for $160.00 USD."
This kit "should" work on the copies of the early kit too.
It is also very easy to install even if you are not mechanically inclined. If you can change the fuel filter in the engine bay you should have no problems installing this filter.
