Loose muffler gasket/bolt and now I'm zapped with codes
I have a 2010 Ford Escape 2.5L XLT. Last week I started the car and there was a loud rumbling noise and gas smell. I thought my converter was stolen overnight. I drove 3 miles to my mechanic and they found that bolts/gasket fell off from where the muffler ties into the front pipe (odd that 2 bolts fall off?). Anyway had it fixed that day and about 1 mile from home I noticed a misfire and a check engine light. MY OBD read the following codes P1000, P0316 and P2195. The next day RPM at startup was between 500-750 when normally it is 1000. I had to use the car yesterday and while stopped at a light, the car turned off, no warning light, no dashboard lights - nothing. Car started back up but I could feel the car was hesitant, RPM still below 1000 and could feel the misfire. Got back home and now I have code C1963 but no dashboard lights, no check engine light - nothing. Can these codes be caused by the issue I had with muffler gasket? Does it sound there is vacuum leak? could that have been caused by the missing gasket? As stated previously I drove my car 3 miles to the mechanic and drove home. I only used the car after that (when it shut down on me) to go 2 miles to/from store.
C1963 wouldn't cause any running issues.
P1000 is probably what is causing most of the problems because the ECU isn't getting the correct data. Unhook the battery and take it for a drive long enough to complete a 'drive cycle' so all sensor can get to Ready state.
P0316 could be many things. I
I would say P2195 could be from the leak - especially if it is still there - because it cold be pulling in fresh air from outside reading as a lean condition.
I have checked the codes and just disconnected the battery. After reconnecting the battery the codes P1000 and C1963 still come up (P1000 is not an issue and I know what to do) but the C1963 is baffling to me. Never had any issues with this before.
