Ebpv delete, need help

I just installed the kc300x turbo on my 7.3 and i want to know some things before i order the bypass plug for the ebpv plug. Am i able to just cut the wires and do the old school bypass? Or does the bypass plug have some kind of resistor in it? I cant find a write up on how it works.
