Cooling issues with front mount dirt bike carrier
I am new to the forum and tried my best to find answers via search before posting but I am inept with technology so I apologize if this is a redundant post.
I have a 2016 F-350 CCLB with the 6.7L. I am wanting to add a Buck Stop front bumper (https://www.buckstopinc.com/products.html) that has a front hitch in it. I am planning a long term road trip with a Truck Camper in the bed and wanting to possibly carry my dual sport on the front but am concerned with the cooling issues of the diesels. I was hoping someone out there has knowledge of the Buck Stop bumpers, hitch mount motorcycle carriers, and ways to remedy the air flow/cooling issues? If this is just simply a no go for the motorcycle I get it but would the buckstop bumpers in itself cause issues?
Thanks for any help!
Derek
I don't have a motorcycle on the front, but I do have a generator mount I fabbed on the front which houses our generator complete enclosed in a large aluminum box I made to protect it from the weather. This is on our 2012 with our truck camper mounted. When I first posted pictures of it on another truck camper website everyone jumped up and down and was sure our truck would overheat.
Like you I was a bit worried at first given all the concern, then I got to exploring the Internet and seeing what other had blocking their radiators without a problem. So I gave it a try and have been in temperatures up to 100 degrees with nary a bump on the gauges and no jump at all when I shot components with my infrared. What you are contemplating is pretty commonplace with truck camper folks, so why not mosey down to the truck camper forum in the towing section and see what the folks who might be doing it have to say. You might also check out the Truck Camper Adventure website or any or the other truck camper forums online for more feedback.

As said above, a lot folks are doing it and there are pictures and discussions all online so lots of stuff to check out.
I will continue research through some of the other forums I am on and as RVTech said will mosey over to the truck camper forum here as well.
Thanks again your inputs make me feel better about attempting this assuming that the bumper hitch doesn't end up mounting the bike too high and block my view while driving.
