Transmission questions

Alright guys, I’ve got transmission issues. It’s been long over dew, and it has been ticking and sounding sloshy for about two weeks now. I can buy a rebuilt one for 800 is what the nearest transmission guy quoted me. But I think I’d rather buy a new one, which I can get from jegs for about 1200-1400 bucks but I need to know the exact dimensions??I’ve got a 1995 2wd F150 xlt with 4r70w. I just don’t want to make the mistake of ordering one with the wrong tail shaft length, valve body, or trans brake style. Any advice or answers would be greatly appreciated

You don't just replace your transmission without diagnosing it ... If you want to waste that money without confirming it send it to me and I'll waste it for you.

No offence but have you checked transmission fluid for level and condition? I think the brains of that transmission are the solenoid packs. From just a little research it seems that the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoid could cause many issues. A solenoid pack will be a lot cheaper than trans replacement. You should always check your diagnostic codes for issues also. If you don't know how let us know as it is easy. Anyway I would do the fluid check first if you haven't. Sandy

Thank you guys for your replies, but believe me, she’s going out. I’ve pulled handfuls of metal shreds out of the pan during a motor swap. And that was 7 months ago. I’ve lost so much torque it’s sad and iv had other mechs that serviced my transmission tell me the same. Iv had this truck since I was 18 and I’m 24 now and I drove this truck harder than I should in my teens. I’m already looking at street fighter transmissions rated for(525hp). Which would be plenty for my future plans. I just want to make 100% sure I don’t order the wrong one. Money isn’t an issue. This truck used to belong to my grandpa; who isn’t with us anymore so this truck means more to me than money and I plan to give it to my son some day, so I have no problem buying the best transmission I can.
