I bought a new 2011 Ford 6.7 diesel and the 7 yr warranty expires in May 2018. I have 30,000 miles on it. I have had it in the Kendall Ford Dealership in Eugene, Or several times for a bad hesitationproblem, with no fix. The hesitation doesn’t problem doesn’t happen all the time.
I’ve had the problem for about 4 yrsand it seems to be getting worse. When you accelerate from a stop& let off the pedal, then accelerate again it dies for. About 2 to 3 seconds, sometimes worse than others.
Does anybody have any fixes.
When you say it dies...do you mean the engine quits? Or just a long hesitation? If the latter, I'm going to suggest that is normal. I have that with my old 2011 and my 2016. If you roll into the throttle it's fine, but to do as you suggest gives me the same results.
Check out my thread a while back about the 6.7L stumbling. Now Ford calls it a buck/jerk upon acceleration from a dead stop. Had it for a LONG time and my text finally found it on the Ford Tech forum. It was a Mass Air Flow Sensor! After installing, the truck's computer had to be cleared a minimum of 8 times. Not a problem since.
I have had this hesitation problem since i bought this truck new in 2012. It is vary intermittent, I may go weeks and its fine then one day i am pulling out in traffic and its a about a t second delay before the power hits. It seams like its more frequent before the motor has warmed up but not always.
I spoke too soon. The problem is back. Now they think it is the torque converter that is not releasing which basically had no stall on it. Then when the truck moves, it releases and then locks back up as normal causing the stumbling, hesitation, bucking and jerking.
