My 2012 under hood fuel filter has two lines out of it, basically in and out. I noticed the 2017 has three lines to it. Anyone know what the third line is for?
It's for the factory, I believe it's there to prime the fuel system when the truck is built. The replacement filters do not have that third nipple. Your truck came with one from the factory as well. Totally normal.
Just watched a video on a 2017 filter change and there are three lines. Weird thing is all three seem to have a different technique for removing. Appreciate Ford making a routine job that requires a lot of swearing.

Can you post up the link to the video? I'm sure many would appreciate it.

I'm sure they do the different clips to make sure that you do not get the lines crossed backwards. You can only clip the "in" on the "in". Changing that filter is very easy and you don't have to do it often.
