I am looking to replace the King Ranch wheels from a newer F250 that were put onto the Excursion before I bought it. We have a crazy vibration in the car and I think it's related to the wheels and spacers. I would like to go to a new set of 20" wheels (have brand new tires I just bought) but would like to skip the spacers.
So question is: what backspacing do I need? What is the stock setup for the truck. In other words, what's the backspacing on the stock wheels so I could match that?
I have -25mm offset, no idea what backspacing. 18x10" wheels.
I would think checking Discount Tire Direct or Tire Rack or something similar online and setting the search criteria would give you a solid ballpark as to what fits, etc. They both list wheel specs.
Thanks for the reply guys. I just realized that I mentioned offset in the title but backspace in the thread. I actually was looking for both pieces of info.

First place I went was Tire Rack to check what they have. Problem is that they list a ton of options on the wheels for the Excursion but the offset measurement is widely varied. In addition to that most of the 20" wheels are claiming a "very agressive fittament".
I don't know the problem given the fact that the truck is now on 20x8 Wheels (Ford King Ranch/Platinum Wheels from a 2014 F250) with a brand new set of Cooper 225/55R20 tires and I have zero clearance issues. I mean if you are on 65 or 75 aspect ratio tires... maybe, but with the right tires to get near the diameter of the original and you're golden.

I'll post up a pic from the spec sheet.
Fwiw I run an aftermarket 17x9 with a -12mm offset and 4.5" of backspace.
Thanks for the info. I think what I am going to do is calculate the info using the Ford Wheel dimensions from the newer F250's and then add in the spacer and work from there. Since I would like a 20x8 wheel I should be able to match that and know it works.
I just went though this exercise. If the wheel width is 9" then 4.5" backspace and -11mm offset. If the wheel is 10" wide then 4.5" backspace and -24mm offset. At least that's what I came up with. I would call the tire store and verify for sure though. That's for my 01. I ended up finding a set of harley 18" wheels and a set of Lariat 18" wheels both from 2004 trucks.
As for chasing vibrations, make sure the front wheel bearings are in good shape.
I went thru the same issue, ready to replace my super duty wheels and spacers.
Found out it was front bearings.
They even felt good when I spun the wheels and checked for play.
Replaced bearings on both sides, now vibration is gone - smooth as glass.

Makes sense, at 10" wide and -25mm mine barely poke out of the fenders... Maybe 1.5", 2" at most. Not enough to get the sides of the rig dirty in adverse weather.
