2001 f250 7.3l powerstroke
I'm looking at buying a 01 7.3 with 260xxx it's in overall good shape and runs good but it won't go from first to second without letting your foot off the throttle but it goes through the rest of the gears fine. The tranny fluid looked to be a little darker red but it smelt fine. I was told there's a shift diode and that's possibly what's wrong?just wondering if it's something major thanks

A mechanical diode is a brand name of a type of one way clutch. It was a disaster. There is a kit to replace it with the sprag type one way clutch that preceded it, and replaced it in production. It's the only solution, you can't get parts to repair a mechanical diode.
