F250 - Door Hinge Replacement - Backing Plate Fell Off
Getting ready for a trip from Missouri to Montana in 3 days and had a broken door hinge. So I picked up a new one, got the bolts undone and, as the last bolt came out of the upper hinge,the backing plate fell down into the frame behind the dash.
Is there any trick to getting this backing plate out?
And then, how do I hold it so I can remount the door?

Hey thanks!.. I did that and found the backing plate hanging just above the opening. Pulled it out and, with a lot of luck, prayer, cursing and and fortuitivness, got the hinge bolted on. Took most of the afternoon, but done. Thanks again. Whew. At least now I can travel with a door!!!
