Does anyone have any ideas on this? I have searched like crazy for info on a conversion kit but all I find is listed 64 and later. I assume that the crossmember for the twin I beam means using a cradle style kit will not work. I have seen most responses to this question is find a salvage yard truck but damn if I can find any anywhere. DVAP said they have some but $175 seems a bit steep. Nowhere else I have looked or called has them.
Hello,
I have a 63 uni,put a 289 ford with c6 tranny in it.Bought a mount crossmember from speedway motors for a small block ford.Had to cut about 3 inches off each end of the new crossmember to make it fit between the boxed plates on the frame. The original ford motor mounts with long pin fit right to the crossmember.I boxed in the frame where my mount was going to be and welded it.Then sat the motor and tranny in with cross member and got it all lined up and welded it.I was very satisfied with how it turned out.
