Was changing fuel filters before some holiday travels and noticed this retaining clip for a boost tube only half seated where it attaches to the engine.
What it's supposed to look like.
I've noted a few failures of these on here, wondering if a half seated retaining clip might be the culprit. I popped it off, added a little extra tension to the spring clip, and after 2,000 miles it's holding tight (No really heavy hauling however-just a few cars here and there). I'm planning on upgrading this to a H&S piece once the warrantys up.
I haven't noticed it on mine, but will look closely this afternoon.
I haven't had any trouble so far on my truck, but I did have a couple blow off on the big rigs.........an eye opening experience the first time it happens, especially under load!

Especially driving a 66,000 pound ladder truck to a fire
Or a 110,000 lb set of doubles up a mountain!....BOOM!!!
Twice we have been able to do a side of the road "get it running repair"
Very disappointed to see the "tech" at the dealer just use a drill/driver to run down a normal hose clamp instead of the constant torque clamp to torque specs (Detroit 2000 series)
