Mid Fifty 56 F-100 Carpet Install

Has anyone installed one of the carpet kits offered by Mid Fifty in thier 56 Ford F-100? They offer the carpet for bench seat and bucket seats. The bench seat has a cut out that leaves some of the cab floor exposed.

For those of you have experience with a 56 Ford F-100 cab, you know there is a floor brace standing up at a right angle across the rear cab floor. This makes it impossible to lay a carpet flat in this area. Im assuming that may be the reason for the cut out. The bench seat option does not show the cut out and appears to cover the floor completely.

Has anyone ever removed the floor brace and installed the bucket seat option carpet in a cab with a bench seat?

That is not a floor brace, it's there to act as a tool tray sort of, to stop things from rolling around. You can remove it without creating any problems.

Your the second guy today who has told me that. Im gonna remove it. The carpet install would be a whole lot nicer without it. Thanks!

ACC: your authority for custom automotive carpet, floor mats, and more I bought my carpet from here, quite possibly what Midfifty supplies.
My panel didn't have that piece in question and it has the same floor pan as the pickups.

If you have the stock transmission cover they fit real nice, in my panel I had to make a higher cover so had to split the carpet under the console.

That is not a bad option. I have one truck that is a good candidate for rubber but I have not committed to the purchase yet so..carpet, rubber...verdict still out. Im leaning towards carpet. How do you like the rubber? Does it go up the firewall too? Quality? Has it held up good?
