55 cab floor, rib piece

I am finishing up the final work on the cab, before it goes to paint. On the floor of the cab, near the back, is this vertical piece of sheet metal, roughly between the bench seat risers.. I assume it was to keep things from rolling around..

Any reason I shouldn't cut it off? I will be doing different seats anyhow..

remove it. It was ther to keep small items from rolling forward from behind the seat.

It held the jack and lug wrench from rolling (sliding) forward when braking hard.
