Yesterday when I was taking off from a red light the transmission didn't engage till about 2k rpm and kind of banged into gear but drove fine. Kept doing it and then got worse. Now feels like it takes off in second gear then 3 seconds later goes into first. While driving it is shifting randomly to 3rd then to first without even applying more throttle. The overdrive light starts blinking but no other codes or engine light comes on. I thought maybe the TPS so I changed it but made no difference. Maybe torque converter but I don't know. Need help.
The check engine light never comes on. The overdrive light flashes but when I shut off and start back up its not on anymore
And that's why you need to read the codes. When the overdrive light flashes it means codes have been stored in the computer's memory. They will remain there for about a month after the last time the light flashed.
You sure about this? All I can find is that it will display the tranny temperature, and nothing about trouble codes.
Yep, it reads fault codes from all modules. I'm using it with a OBDLink MX, the cheaper China bluetooth dongles needs some modification in order to access the MS CAN network, but the OBDLink MX works perfectly out of the box on all networks. I've used it to finally pinpoint my U1900 intermittent error, which it shows is being set by the instrument cluster. If you check the log, it shows all detected modules, VSM, PCM, IC, and so on. It's quite frankly an immensly powerful and awesome app/software which is almost free (5 bucks on Android, but well worth it, free on Windows). It gives a proper diagnostic tool to the common DIYer for about 100 bucks if you go for the OBDLink, 20 bucks if you go for a China bluetooth OBD.. I have a Ford VCM, but I actually use the FORScan app more, as a first line diagnostic tool. Just plug it in and have a quick check. On a laptop I can run self tests for most, control the PCM inputs and outputs, and even program PATS keys. I only break out the VCM if I need to do power balance and more in depth stuff.. hehe..
