The OEM replacement fuel filter has a moisture barrier built into it whereas most auto parts store filters do not. This is located in the fuel filter bowl on top if the motor behind the HPOP. Another is the ICP sensor. Use an OEM replacement as it has RF (radio frequency) shielding built in. Again, most aftermarket ICP's do not have RF shielding. Using an aftermarket ICP could subject the PCM to erroneous ICP readings causing the motor to run rough and possible set an SES light.
Even though OEM replacement parts are more expensive, they are highly recommended as they have clear advantages. My $.02 worth...
