Hi all,
Well I found out today that the 2012 6.7 that I have purchased used with 30, 500 Miles on it a month ago has been in previously for warranty work. It appears that the previous owner took it in with a check engine light and after diagnostics found that the EGR cooler had "no Flow". Ford replaced the EGR cooler core under warranty before I bought it. (It now has 31, 950 on it) Normally I would think, GREAT, something I don't have to worry about doing LOL. But being new to the diesel world, I was just wondering if this is something I should be concerned with. Anything else I should be keeping an eye on etc.... Also is this abnormal to occur with such low mileage? Thanks in advance for any responses
Thank you for the replies. I'm just a little nervous, never bought a used vehicle before and never had a diesel. (Always wanted one). I love the truck. I traded an 06' F-250 with the 5.4 gas motor. This truck is sooooo much nicer. The only time I let it idle is the 10 min or so warming up before I get in her. Probably won't let it go that long once these dang cold temps get out of our area.
LOL. I ran it hard this past week. Had 6 inches of snow and trying to get in out of my 100 yard long driveway was interesting to say the least. Let's just say there was a lot of high reving, shift from forward to reverse and just plain ol' stomping on it. I was afraid I was going to hurt it. Lol. Stock Michelin tires suck the way!!!

Yeah, I tore that lower plastic piece off my bumper the other day pushing snow. For now that plastic piece rides in front of my tool box.
UMMMM, that's almost 1/5 of the time its running, its idle time.
It's called city driving. My truck never idles except when doing snow removal it runs all day/night. From what I've read, many are in the 20-25% range some even over 30%.
