EGR Cooler again

Just got my truck back from the dealer today. Egr went again, was done in april with 72,000 on it and went again last week with 90,000 on it. Ford did not help with the repairs at all since my truck is off its 5 year 100 as of november 5th. Had a call into ford and they said that they would not help out since i am not the first owner of the truck. Starting to think about trading in on a cummings.

You could do that...or just spend $200 and delete the egr cooler altogether. Do you have a tune programmer? You have options other than just replacing the poorly designed egr cooler is all I'm saying. If you really love your truck...then remove the appendage egr mess and be done with it.

Did they replace the oil cooler as well. More times than not it's the oil cooler that causes the egr cooler to go out. I would just delete the egr cooler if it were me. And put a coolant bypass filter on that should slove your problem.

they did do the oil cooler as well. I am just really fed up with ford. The fact is that they did the cooler and oil cooler in april under warranty and now less than a year later and still under 100k they won't work with me at all on the repair costs. I understand that i am out of the 12k parts warranty and my 100k but seems they could help with part of the repairs to keep a loyal ford owner a loyal ford owner

No offense but if they do it for you where do they stop for everyone? Do you really think GM or Dodge would do it for you? NOT! Do you have a coolant filter? This subject has been hashed to death and its benefits have been proven exponentially in my opinion. Don't put one on and even if you delete the egr cooler you will still be replacing oil coolers. JMHO.
