So, my truck is hanging out in the garage waiting for it's next RV pulling excursion. Today, I decided to check what the DEF screen was reading as I hadn't checked it in a while and have a few trips coming up. DEF was fine so I set the MFD back to the gauge readout where it usually stays. I was about to shut off the key when the numbers I was seeing grabbed my attention.
Oil Temp 75 F
Trans Temp 19 F
Now, 75 oil temp makes sense as garage is about 80 right now. Trans at 19 is "a bit" off though. So, I guess I need to run it and let it sit again and see what happens. Any thoughts? Bad temp sensor? Worth having the dealer check if it continues? Gremlins under vehicle with block of ice to trans pan????
I wouldn't trust the numbers unless it's running.
Take it for a drive to get it to operating temp. and if the TFT is still way off, then you have an issue.
I suspect things will be normal as I've seen odd reading with my CTS when the truck is off.
I'm not worried about it per say. More curious. My thought process was that if it's 56 degrees off when cold is it 56 degrees off when hot? By the by, they have always been only a couple degrees apart at start up since new. Never seen this range before...
