I just finished putting a new powermax turbo, 155cc injectors, new oil cooler, new intake and new exhaust on my 2005 6.0. After test driving it and getting on the throttle, it died when I let off the throttle. It took a couple of cranks to get it started then ran fine. It happened again today. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have deleted the EGR also.
im no expert but first place id at least check is the fuel filters (had a problem like that on a jeep and someone dumped a potato chip bag in my filler hose and I could drive slow and be ok but if I was throttle it would suck the bag to the pick up so I apply Kiss method anymore ! sorry to here u have issues and im sure the experts will chime in any min
That is a neat thread, one I wish we would see here more often, the symptoms and trouble in detail, flow-up and the results. What I am really interested in is the claim of the motor being quieter after a new IPR was installed. I have noticed some 6.0's are louder than others. Mine seems to cackle louder than any other 6.0 I have heard
Thanks for all the advice, I will tear into the old girl as i find time and hit all the points you guys have brought up. I did replace the oil and fuel filters with Ford parts and still have the Ford oil filter cap.
I am not running any tunes yet, still stock on that aspect.
I'm not an expert and just basing this on my experience with other engines, so take this with a grain of salt. You've increased the size of the injectors and the turbo, and have also made it breathe better, but you haven't compensated for the changes with the tune. I think I would start with the right tune before potentially chasing my tail trying to find the cause of an intermittent problem. Even if it doesn't fix your problem, you need the tune anyway to really take advantage of your changes, so it seems like a win-win to me.

I agree with this ^ where I would start I musta read to fast and did not see it was all upgraded good luck im chasseing a few issues my self !
