I need to purchase left and right cab corners and lower cowl patches, I was just wondering if anyone has had any hands on experience with either LMC, MID FIFTY, or DENNIS CARPENTERS patch panels. I cant get them for a month from dennis carpenters (which I had perferred) I am planning on covering up the filler neck hole on the drivers side. Thanks for any input.
(got to get this project moving forward again!)
Just choose which one is cheapest, they all source them from the same overseas manufacturer When I bought mine from BOTP, there were several paper stickers on them. When I pulled them apart there were stickers for MidFifty, Carpenter, LMC and BOTP
Oh yeah, be prepared to do some cutting and reshaping on the lower parts of the corners, they really don't follow the contours of the originals very well.
thats what I was affraid of. I would like to buy USA made but I dont think its an option. Im trying to save time by buying them but I might be better off just repairing what I have.
Whatever became of Reamer? He was making them himself and, from replies posted, they fit really good. You might look up Chuck Mantiglia (chuck4850) since they were/are buddies. Stu
A little fabrication and finesse will be necessary. Here's what I got from mid-fifty. With a little work they came out fine. By the way, This was my first welding experience.

I think the ones Reamer was making fit the 48-52 trucks, this fellow is working on a 53.
Yeah, I realized that. I emailed Chuck, thought, and asked because I'd not heard from Reamer in a long time. Chuck replied that he still is around and making his cab corners for the 48-52s. Stu
Hey JRC,
We bought rear corner patch panels initially from LMC. The angles were way off & the fit wasn't even close. We returned those & went with Reamer. He's a firefighter up in Connecticut who makes them for our trucks. He was quick & his were a much better fit. We also had rotted out sills & door jams & we asked if he could make those - no problem.
We have a '50 so it might be that he only does '48-'52 but it's worth a quick shout out to him to see what he can do. You will save yourself a lot of time & effort getting patches that fit that odd curve in the cab corners.
I can probably come up with his email for you or just PM him.
I bought cab corrners from Dennis, fit like junk so I returned them and bought a set from EMS out of Ohio. I believe they make all there stuff themselves. I was impressed with what I got. Still needed alittle massage but fit overall well. Here is their link. EMS Auto
I used the ones from Mid50. I had a very solid cab to start with so I dont know if that matters but they fit quite welll. Not a whole lot of modification to get them to fit right.
