I need a new tranny pan for my 70 360 c-6 tranny. I would like to get alum. but not willing to pay around 150..00 for it. Any suggestions on where to get cheap alum. pan or suggestions on quality steel pan, thanks.
If you are worried about better cooling, skip the aluminum pan and get a better add on cooler.
Not worry about cooling my pan is leaking on one side and just want to replace it. Just figured the alum. would be stronger and more durable but what I found is around 150..00 for alum. also.
Speaking of cooling I was thinking about adding a tranny cooler. I have one from the junkyard in my shed that's been sitting for a couple of year. Would this be safe to use if I blew it out or should I get a new, thanks.
Oh and thanks for the amazom link I have 30 bucks in amazon credit.
Just get one of the cheap chrome steel pans with the drain plug BUT do yourself a favor and get one of the THICK blue RUBBER gaskets. The gasket will cost as much as the pan but it is WAY worth it. If you can find one with the steel core inserts; even better!

Do you know where I can get one, I looked at autozone and advance but they do not give details and it's hard to tell from pics. I'm guessing fel pro performance because they a similar oil pan gasket. Thanks.

Depending on the design, if you could make sure it was thoroughly cleaned inside it might be okay. Carb cleaner, kerosene and some air pressure? You don't want to add any gunk/broken pieces/etc to your transmission. If in doubt, they are cheap to buy new.

Have not checked price on new maybe a better way to go. I was kind of worried about inside rust. I would feel really stupid if I ruined the tranny to save a few bucks, thanks.
