Your better off just sticking in a 6.0 cooler for extra cooling capacity. If you look at a BTS transmission none of them have a large capacity pan...
I think CSIPSD did make a sort of spacer that just lowered the pan down an inch or two..

Just buy one from hughes perormance. works great and adds 4 qts. all the hardare included and only 130.00. Finned aluminum cools the fluid faster, holds more, not as big as the Mag hy-tek and therefore doesn't hang below the skid plates. and costs alot less. The pic below was right b4 I put the last bolt in. Been on my truck for 6 years. Love it

No proof that extra capacity help keep things cool but it also no proof that it hurts anything either. If you want to go for it Miles.

Their catalog claims lower operating temperatures and longer transmission life, presumably from the extra four quarts ATF capacity.
While the case may be made that the fins on the pan MAY contribute to additional cooling, it would be VERY slight, indeed.
What you'll gain is four more quarts of ATF at the same temperature as it would be without that bigger pan.
As Jay said above, there's no reason to believe anything will be cooler.
If you want cooler, get additional heat exchanging, not additional oil.
Certainly no downside except the money spent.
Looks nice.

I do agree with Po that you will certainly get way more bang for your buck with the bigger exchanger than from more fluid.
Miles, are you able to make a GTG on the 13th at Mikes? You are the one that started the thread after all. LOL

Great for peace of mind, too, especially when towing heavy.
I should probably consider additional cooling, as well. It can't hurt.

I also have the bypass tranny filter from dieselsite.com. I like it too for added safety.

To avoid abrading through that stainless braiding, you might consider slipping on some plastic split-loom of appropriate diameter.

I should probably change the filter. Its been on there since jan 07. But the guage still reads in the green. I have been thru a fluid change and didn't change the filter cuz it was still reading good. But I think I will do it just for the times sake now
