Talking about prices of mods

I found a mod you'll never get paid off. An after market trans pan from mag-hytec. The $345 price tag isn't all that bad to me, but the thing holds 8.5 more qts of fluid. Seems to me I'd be changing more of the fluid when I change fluid and filter. This is 1 mod that will keep costing you. Lol

Actually since they hold more you can lengthen your change intervals and if they extend the life of the tranny 20-30% they would pay for themselves easily.

Depends on the tranny but in a torqshift I would worry that since there is added capacity the fluid would never reach temp and it would never filter the fluid. It would be a waste inmo.

Some things are hard to convert into dollar amounts. I think the $345 and extra oil cost will be quickly recover in avoiding one transmission failure.
Than how will you know unless you try it both ways?

I wondered about this. If your assessment of a 30% life increase your still money behind. By holding 8 more qts of fluid that's an increase of 100% of materials. Your not extendind life even half? Twicenthe fluid should get twice the life.

You will still have to drop the pan and replace the filter at the same intervals and replace even more fluid due to the extra-capacity pan.
No cost savings I see.
