Appreciate any help - bit of a novice when it comes to cars
2004 Expedition Eddie Bauer, located in England.
This morning I pressed the down button for all 4 windows and they went down. When I went to put them up - they all went up except one rear window. I need to get it up before the rain starts and hopefully fix it too!
There is absolutely no sound, nothing when i try to get it back up. I think all the power windows are on the same fuse so it must be to do with this specific one.
I got the door panel off and I'm staring at this lot - no clue what to do!
If anyone can help me a) get it closed and b) work out how to fix it I would be grateful.
you can disconnect the window glass from the window regulator mechanism, then raise the glass by hand. Look for 2 or 3 screws/bolts through the bottom of the glass panel that secure it to the regulator.. raise and then prop the window in the up position.
Hi Gevans - does that mean I'd leave the cradle down and just yank the glass out and up? I was hoping to keep it in it's frame and raise the whole lost manually somehow but it's hard to see hot it raises/lowers.
thanks
Mike
go here for video on how to replace the regulator assembly. you must first separate the glass from the regulator/motor assembly. Before you pull it all out, you might want to put 12 volts straight into the motor to make sure it is not just a switch.

I'm trying to follow this thread. Let me see if I got this right:
The Right Rear window would not raise from the Driver's Door Master Window Switch?
And it ALSO won't raise from the RR Window Switch (with the DDMWS in the "unlock" position)?
Hi you are correct the window won't raise from either the drivers control or the one on the door.
If you have a DMM, let's check and see if you have voltage going to the RR door window switch.
Seeing as how you have the door striped down, let's disconnect the RR window switch.
Then with the ignition key in the "RUN" position and with the Master Window Switch in the "UNLOCK" position, measure the voltage between the pin where the yellow/light green wire comes into the connector and a good ground.
Hi- well my battery drained so I got a jumpstart and took the car for a spin. On the way back guess what - the window decided to play
So it's closed now and I put everythign back together - it's after 10pm here so done with playing cars for the week ;-)
Weird how it should come back after 6 hours or so of not wanting to work.
New rule - no RR window opening!
cheers
Mike

Probably a dead spot in the window lift motor, or a loose electrical connection. Driving over a few bumps shook it just enough to make contact and get it working.
