2005 Expedition A/C vent problem

Rookie user here - appreciate any help possible! Thanks. A/C works fine in back, is blowing through the defrost vents but not 4 main dash vents. Can't see any breaks in vacuum hose behind battery, though there was some corrosion on terminal, which was cleaned off at last oil change. No thumping or clicking (that was last year, had the system replaced) but heading out on vacation soon and hoping for a quick fix, not a huge bill at the dealership...appt Mon morning. Had new Triton engine installed in the fall due to bent rod; thankfully under warranty but that's the only other known behind-dash work done. Thanks for your help!

Replaced vacuum hose; a little more output through the 4 vents but still not as strong as before. Still strong output through defrost vents. Any ideas?

On the driver's side of the floor hump, looking up at the heater vents. You should be able to see a vacuum operated actuator, right above the carpet. There might or might not be a flimsy cover in the way, if so remove it. But I'm fairly certain that actuator is one that closes off the floor airflow and directs it up to the vents. I've seen it's linkage fall off before.

Still bedeviled by this - couldn't see anything on the drivers side. Any possibility of going in through the glove box to see what's behind? By my estimation, that's about where the 2 hoses/wires (grey, black) come through the firewall. Read about other Expy models that you could do that; don't know if it's worth the effort. Clearly there's a vacuum problem somewhere, because fixing what we could see made for better flow but still not the great flow of the past. Thanks to all who've read - looking forward to learning more from y'all as you post!

Here's the part I'm talking about. This is at the driver's floor, the brake and gas pedals are to the left.
