Amp Rating on AC outlet
Does anyone know the amp rating on the AC outlet in the back seat? I'm curious if I can run my air compressor for inflating tires or if it is just suitable for charging cell phones, etc.

I know from experience that it will power my laptop, but that is about max. I think I read somewhere that it is rated at 300 watts max. but could be less. If 300 watts is correct then you're only talking a couple of amps at 120 volts. Makes it good for game boys, etc.

The 110V AC power point outlet is used for powering electrical devices

Looks like it's just for the kids to play games and watch DVD's (like my wife's minivan).

I know it's not rated for it, but I have heard of people powering hair driers off that outlet. If it will carry that much load for a short time, I'm sure it will handle 3.3 amps. You will probably just be limited in your duty cycle.

Well, scratch my idea of powering anything useful with that outlet. At those levels, that's around 1 amp. My air compressor is 120V 3.3 amps. This truck is loaded with power outlets, but none of them can carry any kind of load. I was hoping that with the 200 amp alt that I would be able to power a little more. Would be nice if I could drive out to the storage lot and air up my camper tires and not have to tow to my house.

Yepr. That's what I'm talking about. You can also find some at the larger RV parts stores. Harbour Frieght has some. I bought a Diehard 750 watt portable inverter at Kmart 5 years ago. I use it with my 5er to power the tv for the grandkids after hours or to inflate the air mattress. Handy item. I plan on getting a larger unit around the 2500-3000 watt range. I will mount mine on my 5er tho. Thanks for the link P.I.T.S.
