I noticed some fluid running down my floor mat right under the brake pedal. Not much but enough to make about a 7 inch long oily streak. Haven't had time to really get under there to look. Anyone else have this?
There's been a post or two about this.
Those owners had the adjustable pedals if I remember correctly.
I'll try to find the post later on if someone doesn't beat me to it.
Use the search within the 6.7L section and see what you find.
It is lubricant used in the adjustable pedal mechanism. Had it on mine, cleaned it off the mat and the pedal assembly and it has not returned. Happened about a month and a half ago. No big deal. I think the factory used too much during assembly and some leaked out.
The identical thing happened to me a couple of weeks after I got the truck, and it has not ocurred again...Tomorrow will be a year that I have had my truck.
Same here. With a flashlight you can see where someone got over-ambitious with the lubrication. I had the same thing happen last summer but wiped the excess off with a rag and all has been well.
Only question is why it showed up now after 9 months. Never noticed it before. Would have thought if too much was used it would show up when I got it.
Maybe it was too cold during the winter to flow? The lube could have built up when using the pedal adjusters and waited until it got a little warmer to let go?
When I picked up my truck for an oil change a couple months ago, I told the service mgr I meant to get them to look at the fluid under my brake pedal. It appears when you use the electric pedal adjustment. The service manager knew all about it and said they would fix me up and that it wasn't anything critical.
