I haven't removed mine but did on another one. I heated it up with an industrial heater (like those for paint removal) to loosen the glue. Then afterwards, used Foo Gone to clean up the remaining glue.
Not sure if they still attach them the same way, so if anyone else has tried on this vehicle, can you chime in?
I haven't tried removing them as the ones on my Sport-Trac looked like they were welded on. I wound up getting one of those visor organizers to just cover it up. It should be a crime for them to put those the way they do. We all know how an air bag works by now...leave us alone!
Great question ......... hoping for a great answer!! I've attempted to remove with heat and quickly backed off as they got super hot but did not look like they were going to come off; almost seems like an iron on transfer, defiinitely not a simple sticker. Hope someone has cracked the code on this.
They put similar stickers on the Ski Doo REV chassis sleds. We removed them with brake kleen and a lot of elbow grease. Not sure I'd try this on a truck interior.
There has got to be a way to remove them. I tried the other day on my 2000 and quickly gave up. You would think after 10 yrs they would just peel right off.
There are lots of them. Check your local auto parts store or Wal-Mart for a pretty good selection. 3 elastic bands is better than 2 if you can find them.
I am not staring at the wood grain dash while I am driving, but I like the way it looks. To me, big yellow stickers plastered accross the top are ugly. I spend more time in my truck than my living room. I'm just trying to make it look nice.
I would try to soak them in Vodka, but that would be a waste of good vodka. I have an upholstery shop in town here and might make custom ones. If I do, i will see if there is a discount for bulk and see if anyone else wants some.
