Gents;
looking for some advice on leveling a Bronco.
I have a 96 with 5.8, and TTB. Stock springs front and back. I'm looking for recommendations on the best brand/type of leveling kit. I dont really need the extra clearance, I simply prefer the level look. I'm sure there may be some sag in the current springs, as they are original from what I can tell, and from talking with the previous owner.
So should I replace them with new ones, then see how much additional lift i need? (I haven't seen 1 or 1.5 inch levelers for the Bronco yet... )
Or should I just go with 2 inch spacers directly?
Mine has a 1.5" leveling kit from suspension connection. I don't recall who the manufacturer is. If I can find that info, I will post it. Leveling kits amount to a heavy urethane bushing between the spring and the cup with an extra nut to keep the bushing from shifting around.
I did the 2" level plates off ebay in the front. my front sits just a tad higher than the rear now (which i hate), and the alignment shop couldnt get my camber adjusted all the way in (tops of my tires stick out a little more than the bottoms). I think im gunna just buy the 1.5 inch springs, and swap them in....hopefully that will give me a level stance, and give the alignment shop a little more to get my tires straight...
I was able to use stock size shocks by the way with no problem!
my understanding is that the stock shocks will reach for installation... the issue is that they will max out to early as the suspension moves and inhibit your handling or possibly break the shocks themselves.
dont know yet....put maybe 150 miles on it since new shocks with some mild trail riding in that mix with no probs
i went from blown carquest shocks and dangerous general 31's to KYB GR2's and fresh BFG mud terrain 33's.....and it handles way better now even with the 33's...
