leveling springs

does anybody have some experience with this kit?

Superlift 1.5" - 2" Leveling Kit

i just found this while i was looking for springs. it seems that every other leveling kit just has that big spacer that goes under the original springs. my front springs are so bad that id like to replace them all together, and i liked this kit bc it includes the alignment bushings. if there is a better/cheaper kit out there, please share! thanks

The description specifies a 2wd F150. Will they work on a 4wd or do they offer them for a 4wd?

I did it to my f-150 94 2wd and it was just perfect. I didn't want to jack the truck all up just level her out. Now it looks like its been and clears my 31's with no problems. I did need to get it aligned after the install. If your gonna put the springs on it would be a good time to change the radius arm bushings to.

ive got it on my truck. had problems with the alignment but im pretty sure my alignment shop just sucks.. they said it was 4 degrees off after putting the springs on and aligning it.. mine still sits 1" lower than the rear but it sits about 2" higher than before with my worn out springs. if i could do it all over again i would do the same thing. good kit and good quality. just make sure your alignment shop is pretty good. i cant tell ya anything about the install because i had a shop put mine on.

Hey minnesota, I miss how my truck looked with the leveling springs. I don't really haul that much heavy stuff anymore anyway. I'm thinking about getting some Moog CC844 springs to level the front of my truck. I've had the Superlift ones in the past and they were pretty good. I can't decide which ones to get.

How did you truck ride before the body lift with the Moog F250 springs? What about stiffness? Is it slightly stiffer than stock or alot stiffer? Also, how much did they affect your alignment?

Good Morning, TexasGuy.

Before I put the body lift into my truck, and after I put the 844 springs in, my truck didn't really ride stiff, it just rode more firm. Definitely noticed a huge improvement in the body roll. It was really bad before with the stock Ford springs, now I don't notice any with the 844 springs.

Now the alignment.. When I installed the 844 springs, the alignment was thrown way off.. My front end looked like this \ / . My local shop had to use some extreme camber bushings to align the front end. The alignment cost was around $360~ or so.

That looks good, Minnesota.

Did you do anything to the rear springs?

Did the springs completely level the front, or is there still some rake?

$360 is big money for an alignment. Tell me more about these "extreme camber bushings" you speak of.

Thanks,

There is still a little bit of rake, but it's not nearly as much as the stock 2WD lean. I actually don't mind it because it's good to have a little rake for towing.

Yeah the alignment was a little costly, my mechanic said his guys had some trouble getting it straightened out. The camber was pretty bad after the install. Not sure where he got the alignment bushings from, but they are basically the same as these:

EXTREME FULLY ADJUSTABLE ALIGNMENT CAMBER CASTER BUSHING KIT 2WD 2X4 4X4 4WD SET | eBay

I will add a side view picture of my truck to try and show the lean if I get a chance later..

Thanks, Minnesota. I would like to see a side view of the truck. Like you, I like a bit of a rake for hauling.

I figured the alignment would be like that. Thats the same deal I had when I had the leveling coils a long time ago. I think I'm going to go with the Superlift springs again.

Yeah if I were to do it over I would go with something other than the 844's I think.

Sorry I just noticed your question about the rear springs.. I haven't done anything to them except replace the passenger side's leaf spring pack when it busted, and actually the driver's side of the bed sags a little more than the other since I didn't replace both sides.

And by the time I got off of work it was too dark to take a picture, so I'll get one up on here tomorrow morning.

Why do you say that?

Just because of the alignment issues/cost after installing the springs.

Here's some current pics:

Personally I like how it looked with just the new front springs. It does have a good stance though.

No matter what you did to level the front, the alignment would have been an issue.
