1 disconnect the negative cables form the batteries
2 remove air cleaner assembly
3detach any accessory comonents are in the way of the valve cover removal if u are working on the passenger side cover on an f series truck remove the fuel filter
4 remove the breather tube or cd valve
5remove the valve cover mounthing bolts
6remove the cover
